This is a lesson to help you practise German vocabulary. There are 83 different categories covering 1,000 words. The "essential words" category has 57 words, but the other categories generally have ten words each. For each category, there are six learning methods to work through (one set of flashcards and five vocabulary games).

I recommend starting with the flashcards to familiarize yourself with the words and the images. Then, when you're confident, start tackling the games. The games are ordered by difficulty. (In other words, the quick-fire multi-choice game is the easiest, and the memory game is the hardest.) The games are currently set to the preparing... category, but you can choose a different category below.

Speech Synthesis. If your browser has pre-loaded German voices, you will be able to hear the words too. If you don't have any pre-loaded voices, try switching to a different browser. Chrome is the most likely browser to have pre-loaded, functional German text-to-speech files.
