What Is a Simple Sentence? (Video)
A simple sentence is a sentence that consists of just one independent clause. In other words, a simple sentence has no dependent clauses. 'I stayed at home' is an example of a simple sentence. 'I stayed at home because it was raining' is not a simple sentence. It's a complex sentence.
