What Is an Infinitive Phrase? (Video)
An infinitive phrase is the infinitive form of a verb plus any complements and modifiers. In 'to eat a cake quickly,' 'a cake' is a complement and 'quickly' is a modifier. Infinitive phrases function as nouns, adjectives, or adverbs in sentences.
