What Is an Indirect Object? (Video)

The indirect object is the recipient of the direct object. In the sentence 'She gave Zoe the letter,' 'Zoe' is the indirect object, and 'the letter' is the direct object. You can find an indirect object by finding the verb, asking 'what?' and then 'for whom?'
