Alot, A Lot, or Allot?

Should I write "alot" or "a lot"? (Video)

Alot is a common misspelling of 'a lot.' There is no such word as alot (with a lowercase a), but Alot is a place in India. The term 'a lot' is the opposite of 'a little.' The verb to allot means to share out.
