Pronouns (Definition)

A pronoun is a word that can be used to replace a noun

Examples:

Marcel is tall enough, but he is not as fast as Jodie.
(The word "he" is a pronoun.  It replaces "Marcel".)

Many words that are classified as pronouns are not easily covered by this definition.  There are several types:

Demonstrative pronoun
Indefinite pronoun  
Interrogative pronoun
Personal pronoun
Possessive pronoun 
Reciprocal pronoun
Relative pronoun 
Reflexive pronoun
